January 2023 Exhaust Notes - Edition No 321 

Lindsay has always willingly made himself available to assist in any way required for virtually every
charity or fundraising event that the Committee has ever organised during his membership. Lindsay was
one of the Branch members on the Executive Committee of the Andrew Love Pink Ribbon Rides which
raised over $15,000 for the purchase of equipment for Cancer Centre at The Geelong Hospital.

His other contributions include co-ordinating the riders for Branch fundraising for the Geelong Triathlon,
towing the Branch owned Chuck Wagon to events such as the Meet and Greet or the Memorial Ride to
provide meals for members of other Branches at large gatherings, manning a BBQ and cleaning up after
Geelong Branch social events and storing the Chuck Wagon at his home for more than 12 months. In
addition to past service on the Branch Committee, Lindsay has always been involved and been gracious
in donating his time to assist others. For example, when the Branch has received requests to take the
Dragons Abreast ladies (the breast cancer survivors Dragon Boat racing team) for a motorcycle outing,
Lindsay has always been the first to volunteer, just as he has been when some very ill person requested

a motorcycle ride as a bucket list item. Lindsay has always made his trike available in these sorts of
circumstances and has never declined such a request. He has also served as Branch Quartermaster in
         the past.

In summary, Lindsay is long standing and a much-respected Geelong Branch Member who has a long
history of willingness to give his time and expertise for the benefit of other Ulysses and community
members. Even during a recent period of ill health, Lindsay continues to give his best for the Geelong
         Branch members.

I believe that Lindsay would be a very worthy recipient of the Telemachus Medal, and I ask you all to
support this nomination. It will then be forwarded to NATCOM for their consideration.

         Yours respectfully,
         Jules Pearce, Member # 62715
         Geelong Branch President

This nomination was discussed and voted upon at the Geelong Branch Committee Meeting held on 21st
