             Historically,  during  the  epoch  of  Shimon  Ben  Shetach,  King
             Yannai,  his  brother‑in‑law,  murdered  all  of  the  Sages  of  Israel.
             Those murders were provoked by gossip, as the Gemara Kedusheen                                                ןיִשׂע
                                                                                                                                ֲ
             teaches (66a).  (Please see that reference).  Also, the murder of the
             Tanna Rebbe Eliezer HaModa’i, which was one of the causes for
             the destruction of Beitar, was caused by gossip.  He was informed

             or cruelty or cynicism or other types of destructive character traits,

             even though the Torah alludes to them in several places, as Chazal

             against this.  If one carefully analyzes these sins of Lashon Hara
