LOOKING AHEAD
This I recall to mind, therefore, I
have hope that the future of our min-
istry is as bright as the promises of
God.
I have often shared with members
of the Presbytery Board by asking,
“where will our ministry be in ten
years or twenty years?” Now we have
reached thirty years, which seems like
yesterday. My optimism is great
about our God, our ministry and faith
in what he has promised. My faith as-
sures me of this one thing, that all
God has purposed for each of us shall
reach full fruition.
As we look prophetically to Isaiah
54: 1-6 and verse 13 which is the
theme for this Love Feast (“and all of
her children shall be taught of the
Lord, and great shall be the peace of
her children”), it is my desire that as
we become more learned in the word
of God, the world shall be our target
so that the whole earth will be filled
with the knowledge of God.
Our country is on the brink of war
with Iraq, but our confidence and
faith is in our God who has promised
to guide, direct and protect us from all evil. We stand in the power of his word.
Every one of us is indebted to one another as well as to our God. Therefore, the expec-
tation for each as we move ahead is that we may continue to thank God for his gift to us,
his son Jesus. May we also give our gift to him which is our blessing from him.
As we move forward in great anticipation, looking for the blessed hope and the glori-
ous next 30 years, let us continue to live a life of holiness as our anointing keeps us thrust-
ing forward in reverence and honor to our God.
Forward March…
