PRESS RELEASE
01 November 2023
TEACHERS AT SEABORN ELEMENTARY WILL RECEIVE AN EARLY CHRISTMAS GIFT:
A RELAXING ZEN SPACE FOR THE TEACHER'S LOUNGE
Atlanta, Georgia – The Seaborn Elementary Community Service Project, led by the Atlanta Chapter of the National
Association of Black Women in Construction (NABWIC), is set to bring holiday cheer a little early this year by gifting
Seaborn Lee Elementary School with a tranquil Zen Space for their dedicated teachers.
Major Installation Scheduled for November 10-12 Weekend: Volunteers at the Heart of the Transformation
The Seaborn Project, a community-driven initiative, has been months in the making, with several dedicated
volunteers already hard at work on pre-project preparations. The project's major installation is scheduled to take
place over the weekend of November 10-12, creating a serene and nurturing environment in the teacher's lounge.
At the helm of this transformative journey is Project Manager Melody Vaughn, a seasoned design professional with
over 18 years of experience. Melody is not only the owner of Melody Vaughn Interiors but also serves as the Senior
Designer for the showroom at Floor and Decor Design Studios in Buckhead. Her deep-rooted passion for interior
design has driven her to volunteer her expertise for this project. "I am incredibly humbled to be part of the Seaborn
Elementary Community Service Project. Design has always been my passion, and I believe that a well-designed
environment can truly impact lives positively. By creating this Zen Space, we're not just changing a room; we're
creating an atmosphere where teachers can find peace and rejuvenation," Melody Vaughn expressed.
Generous Sponsors Supporting the Cause
The Seaborn Project is made possible through the generous support of its sponsors. Synergy, Floor and Decor, and
Community Services by Design have joined forces with NABWIC to make this transformation a reality. Their
contributions emphasize their commitment to the well-being of educators and students in the community.
Contributions Still Welcomed: Be Part of the Transformation
“Donations are still needed, however, says NABWIC Chapter leaders, President Xiomara Yanique and Monique Strong
"We passionately encourage donations from companies and organizations throughout the NABWIC network and in
the Atlanta area. As Black women in construction, we take immense pride in our industry. We are elated to see a
group of women willing to make a difference for teachers, who play a pivotal role in society, often without the
resources or recognition they deserve. Our goal is to provide teachers with a daily gift of relaxation and
rejuvenation."
