I admire anyone who has the guts to step out of that misnomer labelled the comfort zone and risk money, time and ridicule in the pursuit of uncommon dreams.
My somewhat cynical observation that so many of the business owners I sold for and did my level best to make rich were just bluffing is based on the observation that so few of them still operate today. What happened to all these seemingly successful enterprises that they should fall by the wayside?
I literally sold tens of millions of dollars for a multitude of varying sized businesses, virtually none of which passed their 5-year birthday. How could this be? I was aware of the margins – I knew the relatively modest commissions passed on to the front line sales personnel was a modest fraction of the accrued revenue – so what went wrong and why do so many seemingly successful enterprises dissolve?
