MADOC COPE
Community Living Madoc COPE Celebrated Community Living Month 2023 by having our
annual open house, sending appreciation gifts to community partners, making daily
appreciation posts on our Facebook page and inviting the leaders of all the municipalities to our
first annual Mayoral Breakfast (Tweed, Centre Hastings, Madoc Twsp and Marmora & Lake).
This year's open house brought in the most visitors ever! We had such a great time
informing our community about what we do, who is eligible and how to access our support. We
are so grateful to be able to spread the word and educate the community to make it a more
inclusive place to live and participate.
This year like others we handed out many appreciation gifts to businesses and people that
support our agency and the people we serve. We also created Facebook posts each day in May
to highlight more businesses and people that keep our agency going. There were definitely not
enough days in the month to highlight everyone!
Our Mayoral breakfast was our first and definitely not going to be
our last. We were able to attend and educated the Leaders on what
we provide to their constituents, how we are
funded, how we best support the people we serve (how all citizens
should be supported in the community), what are our concerns,
goals and focus for years to come as well as how they can help
spread the word on Community Living as a whole. We will continue
to grow our celebration each year to spread the word and educate
our communities on what Community Living means to not just
those we support, but all citizens. Thank you to everyone who
