TECH TALK
    Welcome to Tech Talk,
This month has been interesting with a returning matter that continues to snare unsuspecting victims. Email phishing. Last
week I received a call from an older customer asking about an email she had received. She was extremely concerned that her
accounts had been compromised. I am glad she took the extra step and called me to ask questions. This however is not the
norm; I have helped many clients after they have got caught and yes had money taken from their bank accounts and credit
cards. So, let’s look at these emails to better understand the key differences that will help you figure out if the email you are
looking at is genuine or not. On the above email you will see key indicators or red flags you
                                                              may have glossed over.
·Email address is not from the supposed originator of the email
·To: should be to you and not undisclosed recipients
                                                              ·Spelling mistakes
·An actual link to sign into your account (clicking on this link
takes you to a web page that will look identical to the page you
think you are going to. It’s not when you log into your
supposed account here, they are using key loggers to steal
your information. This way they gain access to your account
                                                              and steal your money.

Please look for these differences and if you are unsure, you
can contact your bank directly or credit card company to see
if the email is legit. You can also call me and I will assist. We
