A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

On behalf of the entire Madoc Agricultural Society, I am honoured to welcome you all to the
115th annual Madoc Fall Fair. For the last two years, we have had to cancel due to Covid-19
pandemic. We are overjoyed that this year we will be once again able to take part in this
cherished local tradition. Although these last two years have been difficult for everyone, this had
been a unique opportunity for us to re-evaluate the things we value most. The pandemic has
illustrated the importance of the agricultural sector, the resilience of a supportive community, and
the value of quality time spent with friends and family.

More than any other time in recent history, the pandemic demonstrated how the agricultural
industry is vital in supporting our communities. We witnessed how food supply chains were
directly affected due to soaring infection rates. Farms throughout the world went understaffed
leaving some unable to harvest crops. At times, store shelves were left empty, and diversity of
produce became a luxury. The pandemic fostered a greater appreciation and respect for the
agricultural industry and the essential workers that went above and beyond to feed out
communities. This resurgence of public interest in the agricultural sector will hopefully produce
more investment from leadership and develop greater interest from our youth. Agriculture is a
key cornerstone in the history and culture of our village. The fair aims to provide the opportunity
to learn about current developments in agriculture and rural living, while displaying a gratitude
                for our heritage.

When reflecting on the past, some of out most enduring memories are made at special events.
It saddens me that so many special occasions throughout the last two years went postponed or
cancelled. We now have the chance to make up for lost time and create new memories with
friends and family. As we reach what will hopefully be the final battle against Covid-19, it is
important that we take the time to appreciate the strength of our community and the generosity
of our neighbours, by celebrating together for the first time in a long time! Let’s come together
and enjoy all that the Madoc Fall Fair has to offer! We offer a wide variety of events and
experiences including the demolition derby, agricultural education, a lively midway as well as
                numerous livestock and equestrian events.

Many people put in time and effort to ensure the success of the Madoc Fall Fair. I would like to
express my personal gratitude to all the executives, directors, members, volunteers, exhibitors
and sponsors for all their support. Without their dedication, tireless efforts and generous
donations; this fair could not happen. As the Madoc Agricultural Society moves forward, we are
always looking to welcome new members and volunteers.

We look forward to seeing you in September. Please come out and enjoy all that the Madoc Fall
Fair has to offer! Our members and volunteers have been working hard making up for lost time.
                Sincerely,

                Matt Tebworth, President
