Jaffar Khan Jamali
Mir Jafar Khan Jamali was a conspicuous lawmaker, inborn pioneer and Muslim League veteran
from Balochistan. He effectively took interest in the battle of independence of Pakistan from
British rule. In 1938, he met Jinnah in Jacobabad at the gathering that brought about the Muslim

Qazi Muhammad Issa

1940 and 1947.
General Muhammad Musa Khan
General Muhammad Musa Khan, born in 1908, was a four star ranked general as well as the
Commander in Chief of Pakistan Armed Forces who served under President Ayub Khan from
1958 till 1966. He was a commissioned officer in the British Indian Army in World War II. He
decided on Pakistan after the division of British India in 1947 and served to order the battle
units in the war with India over Kashmir in 1947 and later as the Commander in Chief after the
military law upheld in 1958. He earned prominence after his duties in the 1965 war with India.
He also held the office of Governor of Balochistan.
Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti
Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, born in 1931 was a politician and a leader belonging from Dera
Bugti, Balochistan. He was one of the few Baloch leaders who stood by Muhammad Ali Jinnah
in his strive for a separate homeland for the Muslims. In his political career, he held the offices
of Interior Minister of Pakistan, the Chief Minister of Balochistan as well as the Governor. He
died in 2006.
Mir Ahmad Yar Khan
Born in 1902, the last Khan of Kalat, Mir Ahmad Yar took over his position of royalty in 1933.
He was embellished a Knight Grand Commander of the Most Eminent Order of the Indian
Empire by the British in 1936. He announced Kalat’s freedom from the British Empire on 12

Nawab Mir Yousaf Aziz Magsi
Nawab Mir Yousaf Aziz Magsi, born in 1908 in Jhal Magsi, was a Baloch pioneer from Balo-
chistan. He strived to free Balochistan from the British rule and composed the Article “Balochis-
tan Kee Faryaad” or “Balochistan’s Lament”. He also distributed the flyer “Balochistan Kee
Awaz (Voice of Balochistan) which was sent to the British parliament to bring light to his cause.
He remained determined to work for the betterment of the Baloch nation throughout his life. He
died in the 1935 earthquake that hit Balochistan.
