The Chicago Police Memorial Foundation (CPMF) held its 17th annual candlelight vigil on Sept. 9 to honor fallen Chicago Police Officers from the past year. The organization promised a night to honor and a lifetime to remember, and it achieved exactly that — in person, this year.
While last year’s candlelight vigil was viewable exclusively through a livestream video, this year’s event was able to be cele- brated at Gold Star Families Memorial and Park, in accordance
with current COVID-19 safety guidelines.
Touching tributes to the fallen officers from family and friends
filled the night, as well as a special gift of $25,000 to the CPMF from Culver’s. The monetary contributions will, as always, help support families of fallen officers, who have made the ultimate sacrifice, and current officers working tirelessly to protect and serve.
