The hundreds of police officers who came to Woodstock in the far Northwest suburbs to honor McHenry County Sheriff ’s Deputy Jacob Keltner included several members of the Chicago Police Department.
Keltner, a 13-year veteran, died on March 7 after being shot while attempting to serve a warrant as part of his
duties with the Great Lakes Regional Task Force. Just as countless suburban departments attended funeral ser- vices in 2018 for Chicago’s fallen, Chicago Police Officers joined the massive turnout to show support to Keltner’s family and those who knew him throughout McHenry County.
