 Cops in the Community
There is no wrong way to brighten someone’s day. Sharing a story, a skill or a smile — it always means something, which is why Chicago Police Officers continue to hit the streets, visit classrooms and invite residents into the dis- tricts to show their ongoing commitment to the community. Here’s a look at some recent examples.
       St. Patrick’s Day
From the Northwest Side to the South Side and downtown along the river, officers kept an eye on St. Patrick’s Day festivities to keep things safe — and the smiles while mingling with the crowds tell you they also had a little fun.
17th District
        11th District
The 11th District Seniors Subcommittee brought together a handful of knitters, including an officer or two, at the district for a class that offered instruction for beginners and supplies for everyone.
Preschoolers at Bateman Elementary School showed how much fun they had during a March visit by a pair of Officer Friendlies from the 17th District.
