15th annual CPMF Candlelight Vigil pays glowing tribute to fallen officers

They sat quietly and patiently to hear the names they will never forget – names they hope no one will ever forget.
They gathered, as they do every year, to honor their fathers. Their mothers. Their sisters, brothers, uncles and aunts. Their grandfathers and great-great-grandfathers. Their friends. Their sisters and brothers in blue.
The threat of thunderstorms forced the 15th annual Chicago Police Memorial Foun- dation Candlelight Vigil inside the hallowed grounds of Soldier Field. But with the Gold Star Families Memorial and Park within view, the evening’s importance and remem- brance were not diminished.
The event serves as a poignant moment of reflection and emotion for the families, friends and colleagues of Chicago Police Officers who have been lost serving the city since 1853. To date, that list includes 582
