Hundreds of family members, friends and supporters didn’t hesitate to go the distance to benefit first respond- ers at the 100 Club of Chicago’s Second Annual Guns ’N’ Hoses 5K Run/Walk on June 17.
This beautiful day in Beverly even brought out mem- bers of the Department’s Mounted Patrol to raise money in support the 100 Club’s Education Assistance Program. The event also honored fallen Chicago Firefighter Pat-
rick Hannon and his family.
The race raised more than $7,000 to benefits to fund
scholarships that will benefit the survivors of fallen offi- cers and firefighters.
“We do this race because what the 100 Club does is so important for families who lose first responders,” Race Director Mary Agnes Zellmer stated. “We have so many first responders in our family, and this race is a great way for us to give back.” d
