Englewood Police Youth Baseball League a winner

The team from Englewood walked off the field at Cur- tis Granderson Stadium victorious in a 12-9 game, but everyone involved – especially the young players – could be considered winners as the third year of the Englewood Police Youth Baseball League came to an end.
Organizers said assistance from officers in 004, 007 and 011 helped the league grow to approximately 300 players ages 9 to 12 and a total of six teams from Englewood, as well as the North Lawndale and Austin neighborhoods. There is no cost to join the program.
Although the season started with preseason clinics and culminated with the championship game at the
