Cops in the Community
Whether helping those in need with a holiday meal or yardwork, paying a reassuring visit after an incident or just sitting down for some one-on-one engagement, Chicago Police Officers continue to find ways big and small to connect with the community. Here’s a look at just a few of the ways CPD did just that in November. d

5th District
8th District
O cer Ed Choi greeted residents and business owners in Uptown as part of a Community Wrap- around Mission, after o cers there completed a large drug sweep that netted eight arrests in mid-November.
When two o cers in the 5th District stopped to help an elderly woman rake leaves and clean up her lawn, their sergeant stopped by to quietly snap a picture of their kindness without drawing their attention.
O cers from the 8th District took on some extra duties on Nov. 15 as they helped out at the White Castle restaurant on South Pulaski during a night of games and face painting for a good cause — to raise money for bulletproof vests.
