The Nominating Committee is pleased to present a slate of well-qualified candidates. Each of these candidates is eager to serve on your Board of Directors. Please take the time to read their abbreviated bio in this issue, and also to review their complete answers to candidate questions at https://decorativepainters.org. You can only vote for two (2) of the four (4) candidates for Board Member. They deserve the time it will take you to read and carefully consider their qualifications. If you cannot attend the Annual Meeting in person, please vote by absentee ballot. We need your input.
We are grateful to those who have agreed to run for a position. If you are interested in nominating someone from the floor at the 2019 Annual Meeting in Wichita, Kansas, or making a write-in, please verify the candidate meets the necessary qualifications (read below) and obtain the nominee's consent to be nominated prior to the Annual Meeting in May.
Each candidate must be a member in good standing for the last three (3) consecutive years. Sadly, some of the members being considered this year had to be eliminated because of some brief gaps in their membership. The candidate for Vice President/President Elect is required to have previously served on the SDP Board of Directors.
All candidates need to be willing and able to attend in- person Board meetings, conference calls, and the Annual Meeting. They should be aware that Board members serve on committees as a Board liaison and are given other assignments by the Board. Board members must be able to communicate by email.
Please consider running for an SDP office in the future. The Society can continue to grow and prosper only with your involvement. If you do not feel ready to serve on the Board, start by volunteering to be on a committee. You can contact Pat Marler, Vice President/President Elect, at pat. marler1@gmail.com to let her know which committees interest you. Share your talent to keep SDP vibrant!
