2019 ELECTION
As a member of the Society of Decorative Painters, you have the right and privilege to participate in the selection of your leaders. As of the May, 2018 Annual Meeting, you have three ways to exercise this right: In person (always the best); Mail-in Absentee Ballot (included in this issue of The Decorative Painter); Electronic Ballot (instructions below).
IN PERSON VOTING
When attending the 2019 SDP Annual Meeting, be prepared to show your membership card at the entrance to the meeting hall. The meeting will take place from 9:00 a.m. to noon CDT, Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the Hyatt Hotel, Wichita, Kansas. Ballot distribution will begin at 8:00 a.m. CDT. Voting will take place during the meeting.
ABSENTEE BALLOT
The Absentee Ballot is posted below and also in the Members Only section of the SDP website at decorativepainters.org.
STEP 1: Read the nominee bios and Q&As on the previous page or go online to familiarize yourself with candidates and their platforms.
STEP 2: Photocopy the ballot, print the ballot from the website or tear out this page.
STEP 4: Insert your ballot in an envelope and mail to SDP, Absentee Ballot, 1220 First St., Wichita, KS 67214- 3907. Your SDP membership number MUST appear on the outside of the envelope to have your vote counted.
STEP 5: Mail your ballot by March 29, 2019. All ballots must be postmarked no later than March 29, 2019, to be counted.
ELECTRONIC VOTING
Members will be sent an electronic link to the ballot using the email address on file. If you receive emails from SDP about conference, chapter chatter or e-zines, you will receive your link at this same email address. If your email address has changed, you have not given SDP an email address, or you have “opted out” for SDP emails, AND you wish to vote electronically, you MUST advise SDP of the email address you want used before March 31, 2019.
The day of the Annual Meeting, Thursday, May 16, 2019, 8:00 a.m. to Noon, CDT, members can sign-in to the SDP: An Artful Connection Facebook page. Here they can listen live to candidate speeches and learn if there are any nominations from the floor. Members will use the link to the electronic ballot to make selections for the officers, board members and elected nominating committee members. The electronic ballot should be marked and
the “DONE” button used to submit the ballot. There will be a specific time frame allocated and announced for this process. ALL ballots will be counted by the Tellers Committee.
Attach correct postage.
Membership number must be written on the ouside of your envelope.
