A COUPLE'S SUCCESSFUL PARTNERSHIP

Larry and
Cheri Rol have been partners in marriage and the decorative painting business for 35 years. They met
in California when Larry, a wood craftsman, inquired

as chairman, as well as the SDP Board of Directors. She has taught in five countries and wrote 57 consecutive articles for Decorative Painting Digest over eight years. And
of course,
she regularly
contributes to
The Decorative
Painter. Larry
manages the
publishing
of patterns,
distributing
them wholesale
and retail, and
their website.
He also provides
our industry
with quality
wood surfaces.
His bestselling
surface was a lamp with interchangeable panels, selling 64,000 panels over the course of time.
Today, the Rols have a home and studio in southern Indiana. They host five 3- to 5-day seminars per year when not traveling for teaching and conferences. We can look forward to a new website currently being constructed – cherirol.com. For information about Cheri’s travels and home seminars,

about someone who might paint daisies on one of his pieces. The rest is history. Cheri is well-known around the world as a gifted designer, teacher and Master Decorative Artist. Larry is equally well-known for fine wood craftsmanship that we use as surfaces for our paintings.
They are a familiar sight at painting conferences and conventions where Cheri teaches and Larry sells wood surfaces in their trade show booth. In the past, they have done up to nine conventions
in a year traveling coast to coast.
Their first show was SDP’s convention
in Chicago in
1985. They have attended every SDP Conference since, inspiring countless new, as well as seasoned, artists from around the world.
The Rols’ influence goes beyond trade shows and convention classes. Cheri
has served on the SDP Teacher Selection Committee, the
