PITCHER
Basecoat with Bleached Sand. Highlight with Warm White; reinforce with Snow (Titanium) White. Shade all shadow areas with Grey Sky; reinforce with Slate Grey. This includes the cast shadow on the side for the flowers and leaf.
LEAVES
Basecoat with a brush-mix of Hauser Medium Green + just a touch of Aqua Sky. Add highlights to the tops of the two back leaves and the top of the “back” leaf at the front with Aqua Sky; reinforce by adding a touch of Sea Glass to the Aqua Sky. Add a bit more Sea Glass highlight to the top of the leaf that’s more in front. Add veins (they won't show up a lot) with a brush-
mix of Aqua Sky + a touch of Sea Glass. Shade with Evergreen at bottoms and at base. Add highlights to top edge of front leaf, at left, on right side next to center vein and turned edge of back leaf with Hauser Light Green; reinforce with Avocado Dip. Add Margarita to brightest areas on front leaf. Veins are a brush-mix of Hauser Light Green+Avocado Dip. Add a touch of Margarita to centers of center and right veins. Shade base, tip, next to center vein on left, and under side veins with Evergreen; reinforce with Hauser Dark Green in darkest areas.
FLOWERS
I am giving you an outline for the area in which to place the flowers. It will be much easier for you to put them in rather than try to stick with a pattern. Using the dry brush, stipple in Hauser Medium Green and Hauser Light Green. Begin laying in flower petals on the stippled background with the filbert brush loaded in Hauser Light Green. Be sure to let some of the petals spill onto the background over the area you have stippled. You don't need to cover the entire stippled area. Load dirty brush into Avocado Dip and add more flowers, over, around, and in between what you already added without covering up the first layer. Add Eggshell to dirty brush and add flowers to lighter areas. You can add more Eggshell and add more flowers if you wish. Add Bleached Sand to dirty brush and add flowers to brightest areas only. Shade at base of petals, next to center, with Avocado Dip. Add Blue Haven petals to some of the brighter flowers, in between the white ones; shade at base with Primary Blue. Dampen some of the flowers with water. While damp, tip a few dots with Tuscan Red onto some petals. The water will pull the paint and soften it onto the petals.
Center: Add centers with True Ochre and the tip of your liner to brighter flowers only. Add a liner tip of Golden Straw to top of center. Shade at base with Tuscan Red.
FINISHING
Float Primary Blue under pitcher and across bottom of canvas. Using petal colors above, add a few scattered on this area; shade a few at their base with Tuscan Red. Add light touches of Golden Straw, Tuscan Red, Blue Haven, and Primary Blue to pitcher. Add light touches of Tuscan Red to leaves, scroll, over Primary Blue under pitcher.
