PREPARATION
Trace the design onto tracing paper and then transfer it onto the canvas.
LET’S PAINT
STEP 1
Basecoat the sky with Williamsburg Blue, the water with Payne’s Grey, and the snowy areas with Williamsburg Blue with some Wisteria mixed in. Basecoat the lighthouse tower, house, and roof with Payne’s Grey, and the light with Banana Cream. Let dry.
STEP 2
SKY: Be sure to work the sky wet-in-wet and to move quick- ly so that the paint doesn’t dry on you. Using the 3⁄4" wash brush, slip-slap the sky with Williamsburg Blue, starting in the center of the sky. While this is wet, use the dirty brush to add Admiral Blue to the top part of the sky. Wipe your brush on a towel and add a mix of Williamsburg Blue and Wisteria to the lower middle part of the sky. With the dirty brush, pick
