PREPARATION
You’ll paint the background with multiple colors, blend- ing between color applications and always using a 3⁄4" flat dirty brush. Wipe the canvas clean. Apply Plantation Pine to the bottom 2" (5.1cm) of the canvas. Add a brush-mix of Burnt Umber and Plantation Pine another 2" (5.1cm), above the Plantation Pine application. Add a brush-mix of Burnt Sienna and Plantation Pine another 2" (5.1cm) above. Now add a brush-mix of True Ochre and Plantation Pine. Finally, add a brush-mix of True Ochre, Plantation Pine, and Burnt Sienna at the top of the canvas. Make sure to blend each row horizontally so there are no hard edges.
