 14 The Decorative Painter • ISSUE NO. 2, 2015
Painting on wood has always been fascinating for me, a magical attraction. Often I find the right place for my drawings among the rough lines. I was immediately at-
tracted to this beautiful piece of wood which I discovered in a charming shop in the Alto Adige region of Italy.
PREPARATION
Sand the surface, then wipe it clean. Trace and transfer the design with black graphite omitting the stems and twigs. Seal the design area with Multi-Purpose Sealer. Let dry.
LET’S PAINT
Using an appropriately sized brush, basecoat the peach in the foreground (this is the peach on the left in the grouping of peaches) with Autumn Red and all the other peaches with Crim- son Tide. With the exception of the dried leaf, basecoat all of the leaves with Jade Green.
