CHALKY FINISH
USING CHALKY PAINT
There are at least seven ways to use Chalky Finish paint:
1) Paint and then sand.
2) Leave the paint application opaque, then lay- er another color on top of any crevices, such as carvings and knobs.
3) Antique using Crème Wax.
4) Apply petroleum jelly in areas, which acts as
a mask so the paint doesn’t stick.
5) Use Modeling Paste and stencils.
6) Use Crackle Medium.
7) Use a combination of two or three of the above techniques.
In this project I combined Crackle Medium with an opaque finish. I also brushed on the Lace color over the carved areas for a two-tone look. I incorporated a wash of paint and used crumpled plastic wrap to create a textured look on top of the unit.
