 PREPARATION
Sand the surface of the box until smooth. Remove dust with tack cloth. Using the 3⁄4" wash with Jo Sonja’s Clear Glaz- ing Medium+Dark Chocolate (4:1), basecoat the top of the lid. Basecoat the rest of the box (inside and out) with two or three coats of Dark Goldenrod, allowing the paint to dry completely between each coat.
Using painter’s tape, mask off the verticle stripes around the outside of the box in 1" (2.4cm) intervals. Using the no. 10 flat with Burnt Umber, basecoat every other stripe. Allow this to dry.
Transfer the design using light graphite paper and a stylus.
