Chapter Happenings
SUMMER OF PAINTING
Pocono Painters – Broadheadsville, Pennsylvania
The Pocono Painters chapter has been busy this summer. At the
May chapter meeting, members painted a very fun bumblebee design by Kathy Poindomani and taught by Karen Schaffert. Each member painted it either on a tin bucket or a surface of their choosing. The results were wonderful!
At the July meeting, member Barbara Meckes taught a lovely Beth Wagner design on silk scarves. First she walked everyone through
the dyeing process and after drying and ironing the scarves they were painted with DecoArt SoSoft fabric acrylic paints. Each scarf was uniquely different and everyone had a great time with this project.
PAINTED BOXES FOR WOMEN’S SHELTER
Osceola Decorative Artists Chapter – Winter Haven, Florida
The Osceola Decorative Artists chapter has been working hard
to complete 41 decorated photo boxes for their community service project, Help Now of Osceola, Inc., which is a county-wide women’s shelter in Kissimmee, Fla. A wide variety of subjects on the boxes allow the shelter to match boxes to each the recipient. Each box is filled with items as part of birthday celebrations for the residents.
