CHAPTER ANNIVERSARIES
SAN GABRIEL VALLEY TOLE AND DECORATIVE ARTISTS - 25 YEARS
San Gabriel Valley Tole and Decorative Artists – Glendora, California
San Gabriel Valley Tole and Decorative Artists (SGVTDA) turned 25 this year and are still happily painting away. Over the past 25 years there have been
over 240 members in the organization. They appreciate the support of everyone and want to honor the memory of those who have passed away.
About 40 people attended
the celebration including 10
former members. As a result of
the party, they have three new and returning members.
There were pictures of members’ and president’s memory books to view, books and magazines for sale, and paint-ins to sign up for. There was yummy food, lots of great raffle and silent auction items, and the members received a gift bag with a 25-year charm, silver liner brush and a hand-painted logo tag. Congratulations to San Gabriel Valley Tole and Decorative Artists.
ILLINOIS HEARTLAND DECORATIVE ARTISTS - 40 YEARS
Illinois Heartland Decorative Artists – Mahomet, Illinois
On May 20, Illinois Heartland Decorative Artists (IHDA) chapter celebrated their 40th birthday with balloons, old and new photo albums, a gift exchange, refreshments, and door prizes. For one day, they were all “40” again!
In 1977, at the national convention, the chapter was chartered as the “Tole A-Holics.” As membership grew, the name changed to “Illinois Heartland Decorative Artists.” Through the years, they grew to approximately 100 members; currently they sport a membership of 44.
IHDA is well known for their annual fundraiser, Chris Cringle Arts & Craft Show, the annual Allerton Painting Retreat, scholarship opportunities, and the Intact Committee, which gives back to surrounding communities. Annual donations are made to Allerton 4-H Memorial Camp, DAC, Blue Ribbon sponsorship at three different community and county fairs, along with honorariums and memorial donations to other charitable organizations. All this and more are the works of
an active membership.
