2ND DARK AREA: Apply a thin layer of glazing me- dium. Apply chosen color to the area where two or more objects meet or overlap one another. It should establish deeper dark areas yet cover less space and will be concen- trated in all triangle areas. Be sure to dry this completely. HIGHLIGHT AREAS: Apply a layer of glazing medium. This color should be applied in the center of the light area you previously established. Most often you will have to build this area very slowly using two or more applications, drying between each coat and making each layer of color
lighter in value than the last. Dry completely again.
TINT & ACCENTS: These are so helpful to separate two items that are overlapping, help an object to roll or turn, relate one object to another or help to carry color throughout the design. Tints and accents are usually ap- plied in mid-value area on petals, leaves or containers. Rule of thumb is that cooler colors recede and warmer colors come forward. Allow them to show but very softly as to not draw attention to them.
