 ACRYLIC
STEP 3: When dry, turn the surface so that the rosebuds are upside down. Double-load the no. 6/0 liner with Jade and Hookers Green and pull a thin stroke around the sides of the bud. Start this stroke at the base of the bud, wiggling the brush as you finish the stroke beyond the top of the bud. Mirror this stroke on the other side of the bud, and then add a third through the middle.
STEP 4: With the no. 2 round, paint a shorter Titanium White stroke along the white strokes painted in Step 1. With the no. 18/0 liner, add three accent lines of Indian Red Oxide to the opposite side of each bud.
STEP 5: Use the no. 6/0 liner to outline the calyces. On the light background, outline with Carbon Black on the outside and Titanium White on the inside edges. On the dark background, use Titanium White on the outside and Carbon Black on the inside edges. Outline the center calyx with both colors. After the stems are painted, add a Titanium White stick dot where the calyx and stem meet.
TULIP
STEP 1: Using the no. 2 round, apply a flat basecoat of Colony Mix to the center section. Now add five strokes of the same color to each side of the center, noticing the different lengths of each stroke.
STEP 2: Load the dirty brush with a bit of Titanium White. Apply an over-stroke to all wet Colony Mix strokes that lie to the sides of the center section.
STEP 3: Apply a second coat of Colony Mix to the center. While this is wet, roll the brush to a point on a paper towel, scoop up a bit of Ti- tanium White, and apply white strokes over the Colony Mix strokes, reloading each time. Each stroke should start at the tip, extend to the center, and then turn toward the bottom (where it will end).
STEP 4: Using the no. 18/0 liner, add Prussian Blue Hue veins to the petals and a Titanium White stick dot to the base.
BLUE DAISIES
STEP 1: Using the no. 4 round, paint the center Yellow Deep. Paint the petals that lie on the dark border with a double-load of Colony Mix and a touch of Prussian Blue Hue. Paint the other half of the petals with a double-load of Colony Mix and Titanium White. When dry, apply a second basecoat of Yellow Deep to the center.
STEP 2: Using the no. 18/0 liner, paint tiny veins of Prussian Blue Hue in all of the petals. Paint a crescent stroke of Espresso with the no. 2 round on the dark half of the center, and apply a tiny stroke in the middle. Add a Titanium White stroke around the tip of each of the light petals. With a stylus, add Titanium White stick dots around the light half of the flower’s center.
BLUE SNOWDROPS
STEP 1: All petals are a double-load of Colony Mix and Titanium White on the no. 2 round.
