the light green on the larger dark and medium size leaves with a Highlight Green Mix. Using thinned Highlight Green Mix from the Dark Green Mix leaves and the liner brush, paint the veins on the leaves pulling from the base to the tip, adding side veins that meet the center vein. With the no. 8 chisel use the Very Dark Green Mix to strengthen the shading in the small triangular areas where the veins join the center vein on the dark green leaves and the medium green leaves. Using the same Very Dark Green Mix from the dark green leaves, strengthen the shading beside the center vein, along the side opposite the light source (upper right) and at the base of some leaves and where one leaf is under another. Add accents to the leaves with floats of Rookwood Red.

With the no. 10 chisel brush use a back-to-back float of Burnt Orange to the right side of the vase covering one-third of the vase’s right side. Pick up Spiced Pumpkin and place a back-to-back float on the right side to high- light. Strengthen the shaded area on the left side with a float of Burnt Umber.

Using the no. 10 chisel, basecoat the ribbon with Light Buttermilk. With a stylus or the liner, put dots of Tomato Red and any Medium Green Mix on the bow. Use the no. 8 chisel to shade edges, center bow, and folds with a float of Oyster Beige+Raw Umber (1:1). Strengthen the
shading with Burnt Sienna. Highlight the ribbon with Snow (Titanium) White.
BERRIES

Using the same chisel, add a highlight to upper right edg- es with a float of Cadmium Yellow. Strengthen the shad- ing with a float of Burnt Umber. Mix a touch of Snow (Ti- tanium) White to the Cadmium Yellow and float this mix over the right top edge of the berries that are in the center of the design. Add a dot of Burnt Umber to the larger ber- ries with a stylus. Thin Burnt Umber and add stems and bud hairs to the small berries with the no. 1 liner.
