I decorate my home with peppermint and candy canes during the Christmas holiday so I designed this for the dining area.
PREPARATION
Basecoat the art board using the 1" wash brush and Oyster Beige. Allow to dry. Repeat with a second coat. Transfer design.
LET’S PAINT PEPPERMINT BALLS
Using the filbert brush, basecoat the peppermint balls with Light Buttermilk. Float Desert Sand around the balls with the no. 8 chisel brush. Strengthen the shading on the lower left edge with a crescent shape float using the same chisel brush and a mix of Oyster Beige+Raw Umber (1:1). When dry, transfer stripe lines onto balls. Using the shader brush pick up Tomato Red and fill in the stripes. Shade the stripe outer edges with the no. 8 chisel and a float of Rookwood Red. With the same brush float thinned Soft Black on the lower left
