The black-hooded parakeet is a member of the Psit- tacoidea family of parrots and parakeets, which are represented by many species worldwide. This beautiful
parakeet is native to the tropical Pantanal area of southwest Brazil, the savannas of southeast Bolivia, and the Pampas of northern Argentina. A seed- and fruit-eating bird, this species has the long, narrow tail of parakeets, as opposed to the short, broad tail common to many parrots.
TIPS ON USING PAINTING SUPPLIES
Using the exact products listed in the supply list will allow you to achieve great results from the moment you begin. Please keep in mind the following tips as you gather your supplies.
BALLPoinT PEn: Do not substitute with pencil or soft-point marking pen.
GRAPHiTE PAPER: Oil-soluble is specified because graphite paper designed for acrylics will not work well.
oDoRLEss THinnER: As you work, keep approximately 1⁄2" (1.3cm) of thinner in a small, clean container with a tight- fitting lid nearby. The lid should be off the container only when the thinner is being used.
PALETTE PAD: Leave the sheet attached to the pad to keep the paper in place while mixes are being prepared. Small items, such as Styrofoam trays, are too small to allow proper brush- mixing.
PAPER ToWELs: Viva paper towels are best for Red Sable brushes. Using rough, cheap paper towels can ruin the brushes.
