86 The Decorative Painter • ISSUE NO. 1, 2014
This dress was inspired by a 1950s pink tulle dress that was owned by my mother, and which I now proudly display on a mannequin in my guest bedroom. My grand-
daughters love playing dress-up at Grandma’s house, and they even have their own trunk filled with hats, gloves, dresses, and jewelry. I always tell them what my mother used to say: “Girls, we have to dress for dinner!”
EDiToR’s noTE: Zentangle® was created by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas, and is a registered trademark of Zentan- gle Inc. Visit zentangle.com for more information.
PREPARATION
Using white graphite paper, transfer all basic design lines to the foam core board as provided on the design. Do not transfer the detailed Zentangle design at the bottom of the dress. Note: You may wish to transfer only the outside border of all roses if you wish to create your own tangled petals. Otherwise, transfer the rose details.
