sTEP 6: Draw the two additional lines on each side of the center line, extending from the center point at the top and fanning out (evenly spaced) at the bottom.
sTEP 7: Draw in five equally spaced cross lines, parallel to the bottom curve of the teardrop.
sTEP 8: Add five dots to the bottom of each teardrop. Note that each dot is placed at the end of each vertical line, but is placed under the border.
CROSSHATCH LACE
sTEP 1: Divide each triangle shape in two by drawing a vertical line down the center, from top to bottom.
sTEP 2: Add the evenly spaced parallel lines extending from the top to the bottom of each triangle.
sTEP 3: Now add the evenly spaced horizontal lines to each triangle.
DOTTED LINES
A series of vertical lines make up the rest of the gown. The lines were created when the design was transferred. Add dots along these lines. Refer to the photo of the fin- ished project on page 84. Note that the dots are closer to-
gether on the top half of the line, and farther apart on the bottom half. The dots lend dimension to the dress.
After the completion of all linework, allow the ink to set for at least twelve hours, and then erase all visible graphite lines with the polymer eraser. Some areas of the dress and hanger may be highlighted with a White Pris- macolor Colored Pencil. Refer to the finished project on page 84 for highlighting placement.
SWAROVSKI CRYSTALS
Glue a crystal in the center of each rose (including the corsage), the center of each circle in the dress’s middle sec- tion, and at the top of each section of teardrop lace.
FINISHING
Don’t forget to sign your art!
If your piece will be framed under glass no finish is necessary. Otherwise, spray the piece with a workable fixa- tive spray, and then with spray varnish, according to the manufacturer’s instructions. The frame can be painted as you choose to fit your décor. Enjoy, and dance to the oldies!
