PAINTERS CHARITY WORK
Our motto “Sharing and Caring” is demonstrated in the beautiful painted boxes
filled with personal items to make Mother’s Day special. Rose Melgoza, president of
the chapter, said, “It is an important day for all women and our members wanted to make them feel loved and cared for.” OCTDP has contributed to Sheepfold, a local women’s shelter since 1982 when the chapter was established. This is a simple way to use our creativity to decorate photo boxes where they can store their personal items. Every year we average 20-25 boxes that are dropped off at the Sheepfold office for the moms. Our Charity Chairperson, Barbara Cracchiolo, stated that Sheepfold staff are delighted when they see all the unique painted boxes. Some are embellished with beads, rhinestones or ribbons. Despite the pandemic, we have continued this tradition
of giving every year. OCTDP is happy to do this and make another woman’s day.
