Judy Pino’s first painting class was in Heidelberg, Germany, in 1978, taught by Scottie Foster. That’s when she found the passion that has kept her learning and inspired for the past 40+ years. She has been an SDP member
since 1979 and a member of four chapters, presently Northern California Decorative Artists and Toling Belles of Santa Clara County. She lives in Newark, Calif., painting and learning, and hopefully improving her painting skills with every class and project. Judy has been in a weekly decorative painting class taught by Carl Larson for the last 25 years, and has attended many SDP conferences and regional conferences. Since retiring from teaching elementary school 11 years ago she has taught decorative painting for her chapters and at regional conferences. Judy loves teaching and sharing her designs because she realizes that when she is teaching, she’s also learning. “Reflections of Hawaii” is a picture of all she enjoys and loves about Hawaii, especially the humuhumunukunukuapua’a. Judy travels to Hawaii often with her family, where every day
brings a new discovery. Her paints and brushes go with her, and she’s ready to draw and paint another memorable Hawaiian scene. Back home on the mainland, Judy paints almost every day. She feels fortunate to have art, especially folk art, as a part of her life. It is a blessing!
