Sunflowers are shaded with Honey Brown to define each petal. The second shading was done with Burnt Sienna, and then dragging the brush up each petal to create dark vein lines. A third shading of Burnt Umber was added here and there for drama of a darker shadow. Highlights were done with Cadmium Yellow+Sand (1:1) and a second highlight of the same mix, plus more Sand (1:1:1). A blush was added here and there on the petals using Tangelo Orange.
Centers are pounced in with your favorite brush using Burnt Umber+Soft Black (2:1). After drying, add the dimple in the center using Soft Black for shading and Honey Brown for the highlights.
After completion, use Krylon Crystal Clear Varnish. Apply twice, letting each application dry completely.
