arrow aiming on a young couple and lace cutouts that some- times pop up when the card is opened. Those romantic de- tailed cards were my inspiration for this whimsical Valentine Hearts Plate complete with flowing hearts on the rim, bleed- ing heart flowers, and Cupid aiming his arrow on the young couple enjoying the spring garden.
PREPARATION
Refer to page 22 for Color Mixes.
Sand the surface and wipe it clean. Using a large wash brush, basecoat the inside plate painting surface using Off- White Background Mix+DecoArt Multi-Surface Sealer (1:1/4). Dry, lightly sand, wipe clean, and repeat to obtain an opaque coverage if needed. Basecoat rim with a large wash brush us- ing Red Background Mix+DecoArt Multi-Surface (1:/4). Dry, lightly sand, wipe clean, and repeat to obtain an opaque cov- erage if needed. Beaded rim is basecoated using Prussian Blue Hue+Dioxazine Purple+Sealer (1:1/2:1/4). Dry and sand very lightly if needed. (See photos on page 23.)
