BARBARA BUNSEY
An interpretation of a Boston, circa 1810 watercolor still life.
This is my interpretation of a motif originally done on watercolor paper in Boston, circa 1810. The original line drawing just shows this shape container holding the fruit. I de-
cided to interpret it as a basket. If some of the fruit sizes seem a bit odd, it’s because I chose to copy this exactly as it had been done in the 19th century.
BACKGROUND
Spray with a few light coats of Krylon Metal Prim- er; dry. Basecoat with Lamp Black. Trace on pattern for leaves, unless they are over a fruit, the main fruit, or basket.
BASKET
Undercoat basket with Mustard Seed; basecoat with Traditional Raw Sienna. With a mix of Mustard Seed+Traditional Raw Sienna (1:1) and the no. 8 liner, lay in S-strokes across top rim. Use this mix and the
