2016 Proposed Bylaw Amendment
The following changes to the SDP Bylaws have been proposed. Only members in attendance at the 2016 SDP Annual Meeting in San Diego, California may vote on these bylaw changes. Proposed additions are underlined and deletions are struck-through.
PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE STANDING RULES

Article VI – Dues
Section 1: Dues.
Membership dues as outlined in the Standing Rules of the Society are payable annually. (Provided for context only – NO CHANGE PROPOSED.)
STANDING RULE 3.
Due Date and Delinquency: Membership dues for the following year shall be payable September 1 and delinquent as of December 1 on the first day of the month anniversary of membership and delinquent on the first day of the following month.
Rationale: The transition to the rolling membership cycle from the date-fixed membership cycle will give new members a full year value for their membership dues. This will include access to issues of The Decorative Painter magazine during their individual membership year.
