EYES
With the no. 3 round brush and the mixture of Cad- mium Yellow Pale+tch Lamp Black+tch Oxide of Chro- mium (1:tch:tch), paint the eyes and cover the entire sur- face. Next, using the no. 1 round and Lamp Black, paint around the eyes.
Paint the pupils and blend the base of the eye us- ing the no. 1 round and Lamp Black. Add a portion of Cadmium Yellow Pale+tch Titanium White (1:tch) to the mixture of the base to the eye. With round no.1 liner, paint small dots at the base of the iris, fading and blend- ing them. Finally, with Titanium White, paint a point of maximum light between the pupil and iris and blend this gently to the base of the eye.
MUZZLE
With the no. 3 round and Burnt Sienna+tch Titanium White (1:tch), paint the muzzle. Add Titanium White to the mixture, and with the same brush paint the lighted areas and gently blend the colors.
With the no. 1 round and Lamp Black, paint four rows of dots on either side of the nose where the whiskers will be. Using the no. 3 round and Lamp Black, paint under the nose, the division snout and the mouth, blending the colors.
Paint on both sides of the muzzle long whiskers inside out using the no. 1 round brush with Titanium White.

Mabel Blanco has been painting for more than 25 years. She has been featured on cable television and has acted as a representative for several manufacturers in Argentina. She has published a number of books on paint- ing baby animals, and continues to study and perfect her technique. She travel-teaches in South America and Spain, and has taught at the SDP Conference.
