Icall this my “brag box” because it is just big enough to hold my most favorite pictures of my children and grandchildren. It sits on my coffee table where I can use it to show my snapshots, and of course brag to anyone that will take the time to look and listen.
PREPARATION
Sand and wipe off the wooden box and use a DecoArt Multi- Surface Sealer. Basecoat the entire interior and bottom Hauser Light Green using the 3⁄4" flat. Let dry, sand lightly and recoat. Basecoat the balance of the box Plantation Pine. Again, sand lightly and recoat. Do not varnish until painting is done.
Note: Throughout the painting I use the term “smudging”. What I mean is to use very little paint. First add the paint, then wipe most of it off in the paper towel. Work it into the area you’re working on, more like dry brushing. I use a 3⁄8" blender for all smudging throughout the entire piece.
