ACRYLIC
vertical pupils using the no. 10/0 liner and Lamp (Ebony) Black. Then use the same clean brush and thinned Traditional Burnt Sienna, a little bit washy, to add some very fine veins on the right areas of the irises. Dot the eyes with liner brush thinned with Snow (Titanium) White. Highlight the irises with Snow (Titanium) White.
NOSE
Use the no. 2 round and Pink Chiffon+Crimson Tide (1:1) to paint the nose. With a no. 4 filbert, dry-brush Crimson Tide (scrub out most of the color on a dry paper towel) on the top portion of the nose. Use the no. 2 round and thinned Burnt Umber to sketch the nostrils; refine the top edges with very fine lines of Soft Black. With the same clean brush and Snow (Titanium) White, softly dry-brush the horizontal crest just up to the left nostril.
Use the no. 10/0 liner and thinned Crimson Tide to apply a very fine vertical line between the nostrils. With the same brush apply tiny dots of Burnt Umber to the top crest of the nose.
MOUTH
Use the no. 2 round and Pink Chiffon+Crimson Tide (1:1) to paint the mouth. Shade with a bit of washy Burnt Umber. Allow to dry. In order to separate the cheeks from the mouth and reinforce the separate areas, refine the lower edges of the cheeks with a bit of Burnt Umber. Using the no. 10/0 liner, line the lip horizontally with thinned Crimson Tide. Highlight with a bit of Snow (Titanium) White.
BODY
Moisten area with DecoArt Traditions Extender & Blending Medium. If you get too much, blot it with a paper towel. Using the Light Gray Mix, (scrub out most of the gray on a dry paper towel) with soft strokes, shade just a bit along the outer edges of the chin. Use a wash of Neu- tral Grey mixed with a thin amount of Grey Sky to paint the gray back fur. Leave out the middle colors of the chest, as most of the shadow will be represented in the background colors.
FINAL DETAILS
Using the no. 10/0 liner and Snow (Titanium) White, add a small irregular fur spot just above the right eye. Use the same brush and color to add some long fur strokes along the edges of the ears. With a bit of Burnt Umber add more whispy fur to the outer top edges of the ears. The long eyebrow hairs are painted with the no. 10/0 liner tipped with Snow (Titanium) White. Apply tiny dots to the cheeks with a bit of Grey Sky and paint the whiskers with Snow (Titanium) White.
FINISHING
