                          WATERCOLOR

   STEP 3: ADD COLOR
You have already finished the difficult part. Congrats! You can erase the pencil gridlines.
Now add some color. I used Raw Sienna, Burnt Sienna+Burnt Umber (1:1), and Winsor Violet for the buildings, French Ultramarine Blue for the sky, and pale
Quinacridone Red for the roses.
Let the first washes dry, then add as much additional
color and detail as you wish.
Remember, additional detail and color can be added
later in the studio if you don’t have time on location.

          Kathie George is an innovative mixed media artist who is widely recognized for her award-winning batik on rice paper process. This work has been featured in numerous national magazines, such as Watercolor Artist, American Artist, Watercolor Magazine and several others. Known for her fun, informative and energetic approach to teach- ing, she has been a popular workshop instructor for over 25 years, including leading journey workshops each year to wonderful destinations overseas.
Kathie was twice a finalist in the Artist Magazine’s International Competition and her work has been included
in five Splash books. She has authored four watercolor books and is a signature member of the Ohio Watercolor
