  LACE
With reference to the Value Placement Map 1, Color Mixes, and Step 1, using the no. 2 filbert, block in values as shown on the background. While the paint is still wet, blend with reference to Step 2 and using the no. 1 round, draw a thread of each one with Background Light Mix.
Map 1. For example, the area of Lemon Light is Lemon Highlight, the area of Lemon Medium is Lemon Light, the area of Lemon Dark is Lemon Medium, and the area of Lemon Low Dark is Lemon Dark. Apply a light dot on the left side of a dark dot.
LACE
With reference to Step 3 and Value Placement Map 2, using the no. 0 round, apply light area one value up in value than Value Placement Map 1. Draw a thread of each one with Background Highlight Mix.
With reference to Step 4 and Value Placement Map 2, using the no. 0 round, draw a thread of each highlight with Background Highlight Mix+Titanium White. Also, with ref- erence to Step 3 and Value Placement Map 2, apply dark area one value down with Background Mix.
With reference to Step 4 and Value Placement Map 1, using the no. 2 filbert, apply shadow of the lace with Back- ground Dark Mix and Background Low Dark Mix.
STAGE TWO
STEP THREE AND FOUR
LEMON
With reference to Step 3, using the no. 0 round, apply dots one value down in value than on Value Placement Map 1. For example, the area of Lemon Highlight is Lem- on Light, the area of Lemon Light is Lemon Medium, the area of Lemon Medium is Lemon Dark, and the area of Lemon Dark is Low Dark.
With reference to Step 4, using the no. 0 round, ap- ply dots one value up in value than on Value Placement
