ACRYLIC
Paint white stripes with Titanium White and while wet add Gray Plum Mix shading. Gray Plum is a mix of Dove Gray+Purple Lilac (2:1) to shadow. Dry. Paint a wash of Raw Sienna to the rust areas. Dry. Add rust with a liner and a thin mix of Barnyard Red+Burnt Umber (1:tch). Make sure you wet the stripe first! Add gray rust areas with Pure Black+Country Grey (1:1). You might want to reinforce some rust areas with Burnt Umber.
Paint the red stripes with Barnyard Red+Burnt Umber (1:tch). While wet, shade with Pure Black. Dry. Wash over with thin Burnt Umber. The bed of the truck is shadowed with floats of Midnight Blue.
TIRES
Fill in the areas on the hubcaps with Pure Black. Dry.
Paint a wash of Pure Black around the hubcaps on the tire. Dry. Paint the hubcaps with Dove Gray and shade with Pure Black on
each side of the design. Highlight the hubcaps with Titanium White. Use Raw Sienna for the rust areas.
Paint the tire with a strip of Pure Black, and another strip of Country Grey. Use Pure Black to paint in tread marks.
GROUND
Paint the shadow areas again with Pure Black.
GRASSES: Paint in grasses with Hauser Green Light. Dry. Wash over with Sap Green. Pull off areas that will be lighter while wet. Mix Butter Pecan+Titanium White+Yellow Citron (1:1:1) and pull up light grasses. Dry.
BACKGROUND TREES: Use Olive Green to tap in dark areas in the background tree area. Dry. Float Olive Green above the back of the truck. Use a liner with Butter Pecan+Titanium White+Yellow Citron (1:1:1) to paint in light tree shapes. Dry. Tap in darkest areas with Wrought Iron.
Dry. Wash over with Hauser Green Medium. Dry. Wash again with Sap Green.
ROCK: Shade the rock with Pure Black.
Hold your picture at a distance. You might want to add more grass,
and/or shadows and highlights.
SIDE MIRROR AND ROCK: Paint the side mirror and the rock with Dove Gray. Dry. Shade with a float of Country Grey+Pure Black (1:1). Highlight the side mirror with Titanium White.
