STEP 1
PREPARATION
STEP 1: Tap in background tree shapes.
Outline top of car shape.
STEP 2: Paint the shadows under and in the truck, the vertical lines on the truck door, and
the hubcaps.
STEP 3: Paint the red stripes on the truck with Barnyard Red.
STEP 4: Paint the tall grass from the bottom-up, in an upward direction.
STEP 5: Paint rock in the bed of the truck Country Grey.
STEP 6: Over the tree shapes paint sky Baby Blue.
BACKGROUND, GROUND, AND TREES STEP 1: Paint the shadows again.
STEP 2: Paint the grass. Pull-up light grasses. Add ground area on the left.
STEP 3: Tap in dark areas of the trees.
STEP 4: Float Olive Green above the back of
the truck.
STEP 5: Paint light tree shapes and ground.
STEP 6: Tap in the darkest areas.
STEP 7: Shade the rock with Pure Black and highlight with Titanium White.
HOOD AND FENDER
STEP 1: Paint hood Titanium White. While wet, paint
blue shadows with a mix of True Blue+Titanium White. STEP 2: Float a wash of Midnight Blue over the shadows. STEP 3: Dry-brush Titanium White into blue shadows. STEP 4: Shade the white stripes with Gray Plum Mix. STEP 5: Paint the red stripes.
STEP 6: While wet shade with Pure Black.
RUST
STEP 1: Wash of Raw Sienna.
STEP 2: Wet stripes and paint again with a thin mix of Barnyard Red+Burnt Umber (1:tch).
