PAINT THE EMBLEM
The Society emblem was designed by Joan Johnson mda and was chosen from three designs submitted at the first SDP Annual Meeting and Convention. The following color instructions are by Joan. The emblem is shown in color on the facing page.
We encourage you to take her design and paint as is or add your own flair.
PALETTE
AC Alizarin Crimson
BU Burnt Umber
CRL Cadmium Red Light CYM CadmiumYellowMedium PB Prussian Blue
W White
BACKGROUND
Basic white (gesso or acrylic).
Antique with Burnt Umber. Rub center, leaving most of the Umber on the outside edge.
MIXES
Rust: CRL+BU
Green: CYM+BU
Orange: CYM+CRL+BU
Deep Red: AC+BU
Tan: W+BU
Blue: W+PB+BU
All mixes should be medium-dark value.
