PREPARATION
Background: Sand, seal with DecoArt Multi-Purpose Sealer, sand again. Basecoat insert with Eggshell. When dry, dampen surface, then spray with light mists of Media Misters in the order given: Violet, Yellow, White. While still wet, turn surface to create runs, etc. Dry well. Using dry Dynasty dry brush, pick up Metallic Rich Espresso, take out excess on palette, then stencil “Gratitude” from the Harvest word stencil. Trace on pattern.
LET’S PAINT
Background Pumpkin on Left: Basecoat with a mix of Spiced Pumpkin+Orange Twist (approx. 1:1).
Highlights: NOTE – The first highlight is the widest; each successive highlight is a little narrower. Using dry small or medium Mezzaluna brush, pick up basecoat mix, take out excess on palette, pick up more Orange Twist and dry-brush highlights on each section. Repeat, picking up Primary Yellow in dirty brush. Repeat, picking up more Primary Yellow. Repeat, picking up Warm White and add just to center and two sections just to the left of center.
Shadows: NOTE – The first shadow is the widest; each successive shadow is a little narrower. Shade next to each section, walking floats out toward highlights in each section, with Burnt Orange. Repeat, picking up Heritage Brick in dirty brush. Repeat, using just Heritage Brick. Repeat, using Dark Chocolate. Using dry medium Mezzaluna brush, pick up Antique Green, take out excess, then scrub onto bottoms of each section, bringing color up about halfway or so; repeat, adding Avocado to dirty brush, not coming up as far. I also floated some of each color over-shading on each section.
