Rose: Add shading to the center of the flower using the #4 filbert brush sideloaded with Color Mix No. 9. Add detail lines to the line under the cup and the saucer using the # 3 Raphael liner brush and Color Mix No. 9.
Pink Flower: Shade around the center of the flower using the #6 filbert brush and Color Mix No. 9. Yellow Flowers: Create the calyx with donut dots by using a pointed Q-tip and Color Mix No. 4. Miniature Roses: Add a dot to the centers using a pointed Q-tip and Color Mix No. 9.
Leaves: Add shading by side-loading the #8 filbert brush with Color Mix No. 6.
STEP 6
Rose: Dot the center of the flower using the stylus and Color Mix No. 3. Add highlights in lines to the center of the cup by using the #2 round brush and Color No. 7.
Pink Flower: Add dots to the center of the flowers using small size Q-tips and the stylus with Color No. 4.
Yellow Flowers: Add some red lines pulled outward from the flower using the #3 Raphael liner brush and Color Mix No. 10. Miniature Roses: Add lines if needed by using the# 3 Raphael liner brush and Color Mix No. 9.
Leaves: Add accent color to the tips of the leaves using the #4 filbert brush and Color Mix No. 2. Fill the space between the leaves with transparent paint using the #4 filbert brush and Color No. 4. The brush should be held at a flat angle, stroking from the inside toward the outside. Move with a soft touch.
STIPPLING ON THE BOTTOM AND TOP
Soak the sponge in water and squeeze the moisture out first. Apply the following paint mix with fine texture area of sponge.
Step 1: Repeat the scalloped pattern eight (8) times. The flowers on the top of the scallops alternate between miniature roses and small flowers. Paint the longest stripe straight in the center of one scallop
by using #4 flat brush and Color Mix No. 1 + Glossy Medium (2:1).
Step 2: Press the donut dots on top of the stripes and the center of the small flower by using the small size Qtips and Color Mixes No. 2 and No. 8.
Step 3: Paint the petals of the small flowers from the inside to the outside with small comma strokes using the #2 round brush and Color Mix No. 9. Draw lines at the top of the stripes using the #10/0 liner brush and Color Mix No. 2. Paint the teardrops as
a straight line between the stippling and the stripe using the #3 Raphael liner brush and Color Mix No. 2.
Step 4: Draw a wavy line between the stripes using the #10/0 liner brush and Color Mix No. 9. Add small dots between teardrops using the stylus and Color Mix No. 2. Add small comma stroke leaves to the small flowers using the #2 round brush and Color No. 4. Fill the area between the leaves with transparent paint using the #2 round brush and Color No. 4.
